Here I am, at the end of a long day.Today's lessons got a bit deeper inside the techniques we generally use in our teaching. How much plenary teaching, pair work or group activities do we involve our students in?
I particularly appreciated the idea of CCQs or concept check questions, which are used to elicit the right meaning of a word through  simple Yes-No questions.
The second part of our lessons was devoted to Phonetics teaching through games. I had never thought you could use noughts and crosses to teach a phoneme and extend vocab at the same time. Quite interesting!
Classroom management is always difficult, so we were also provided with useful suggestions on the language which should be used.no jargon, overly descriptive or unnatural language.
So that's enough for today. Goodnight eveybody!

  1. Hi Marialuisa,
the activities you're talking about could be of help , I'm always worried about phonetics and how to teach it to our ss. who find it awful and boring , not to mention how to entertain them in class and getting them involved !
thanks a lot you've entertained me too
    bye
    a hug
